Lucali & The Met
Sunday, January 11, 2009THE MET
We had a fun time on Saturday with our new friends, Kevin and Vanessa and Ian and McKenna. We are in the same ward as Kevin and Vanessa and they introduced us to Ian and McKenna who are also recent immigrants to NYC. We went to the Metropolitan Musem, 82nd and 5th Ave, on a wintry Saturday afternoon. This is obviously not a picture from the day we went because when we arrived it was covered in snow and there was no old men attempting to inconspicuously clear their nasal passages (see white hair lower right hand corner). There were however several very cool exhibits that we walked around and took in, Tigan and I spent a sufficient amount of time viewing the "French" rooms to make us remember the hours we spent viewing the lavish halls of Versailles. This was the entrance badge that we received at the entrance, clever really, you fold it over your bag or shirt and it gives you a sense of culture and belonging the minute it is securely fastened to your personage.
This is Tigan standing above the entrance to the met. This is me trying to understand a piece of art. I think I have the art gazing stance down.
LUCALI
This was the post museum entertainment, a local spot in Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn that has the best pizza that Tigan and I have had since Italy. The sauce is how you can tell true class of a pizza because it is a sweetness that probably took several weeks to make. As you can see the guy is even rolling the crust out with a wine bottle to make sure it's real Italian. These are the night scenes that we took with our camera at the pizza place, if it doesn't make your mouth water I don't know what will.
This is everyone:clockwise starting with the camera man, Blake, Tigan, Ian, McKenna, Vanessa, and Kevin at our rustic Italian table in Lucali. BEST PIZZA EVER
