I love love LOVE vintage classics. I'm always telling Blake how I was born in the wrong ERA. In college I bought a fuchsia 1920's cloche complete with purple feathers. You should have seen the looks I got strutting that baby into my Biology class. One of my very favorite phone calls are the ones I get from my grandma... They go a little some thing like this " Tigan, it's Grandma.... I found some old dresses in my basement I thought you might like.... Hello?... Tigan?" ( The phone which was left hanging by the cord swings back and forth in the absent breeze because I have already ran across the street to check out my new treasures.)
This unworn turquoise dupioni silk beauty with it's original price tags has sat in a box for at least twenty years in my grandma's basement.
{Hello beautiful 1950's frock welcome to the 21st century. You and me are going to be real good friends!}
The bracelet was an early birthday present who knows were it's been hiding. If you notice the bracelet actually fits my wrist. See I told you I was born in the wrong time period.

Packed And Ready To Go
5 hour flights aren't nearly as bad with FREE TV and unlimited snacks.
Mom and I @ Good Things Utah
That night we went to Show Boat... where my brother showcased his amazin' singin'and actin' skills and made all the girls in Layton swoon.
The Amazing Race
We had nine couples compete in our Amazing Race. Blake and I spent all day planning and mapping out the course through out Layton. Unfortunately I think we planned a little to well and some of the couples were unable to decode the clues and we had to give them a little help. But the winning team did walk away with 90 big ones!
The Newest Heart Throb in L Town
Blake and I even got to go eat lunch with Mckay at his elementary school cafeteria. Boy did that bring back some memories. McKay assured me that Sloppy Joe's and Cheese Sticks were definitely the way to go, but I told him I'd stick with my homemade PB&Honey sandwich.
We even got to spent some time with Blake's family. They came all the way down from Colorado to spend a couple days with us. Blake's Dad showed us around one of his favorite stores in alpine Cabela's. Being the extreme Nature Queen that I am Scott made sure to take an extra minute or two and explain all the different types of river fish Cabela's had stocked in their aquarium.

Here's to Blake on his special day!
I'm not much for public sappy monologues, but today is a special day so I'm going to break out of my comfort zone of saucy antics and go with something a little bit more heart warming.

When we lived back in Logan Blake worked at a local gym and about once a year the gym would put on a completion. We'll call it "The Biggest Loser" Anyway Blake was assigned to train a group of men and women for a period of ten weeks. Obviously the general reality show rules applied to the local competition and although the monetary reward was of lesser value then the actual show the contestant were no less determined or want some. On the first day of the competition Blake spent countless hours of his personal time interview each contestant. He wanted to know their worries, fears, dreams and goals, but most of all he wanted to earn their trust.
During the 10 weeks I would pop by the gym just to say hi or to drop off a bite to eat. And there was Blake, group trainer, center stage sweaty and positive. Not only was Blake's name synonymous with the words " wow, what a hottie" followed by " Is he single?" but also with phrases like "I feel better about myself" and " He makes me feel like I can accomplish my goals."
When Blake's group was losing in the group relay swim Blake jumped in with his team and breath stoked right along with them. And all though Blake team never won the cash prize I believe his team walked away with something more than the ability to make healthier choice but with the confidence to be better people. And that's a prize you can't buy with money.
To this day I'm not sure that Blake know how many lives he changed in that competition and the others that followed, but I do know that whether Blake has personally motivated you or just simply brighten your day with a heartfelt hello we're all better on this day, his special day to have known him.

Starts Tonight!
love blossoms quickly for a riverboat gambler and a young ingenue in this epic musical spanning 47 years on the Mississippi River, set against a backdrop of racial strife and changing America. Widely credited as the first true American "musical play", Show Boat took the world by storm in 1927. The story that has been called "a revelation and a revolution" spawned the classics "Ol' Man River," "Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man," "You Are Love," "Bill," and "Life Upon the Wicked Stage."

OK... my GUNS are still pretty SMALL and I totally took the picture in my best muscle enhancing light, but I promise there is still a little something there. And for a gal who use to hide in her gym locker during class eating vending machine candy to pass the time all to avoid running laps. I'd say it's pretty darn good.
* Did I mention my husbands a personal trainer :)

Some people have been asking about some of the details pertaining to the race. First please feel free to still come to the party even if you DON'T want to participate in the race. There will be plenty of other things to do and we would LOVE to see all of you!
1. $15 entry fee is broken down like this:
- $5 goes to each team for purchasing things during the game related to a "Pit Stop" or a "Road Block"
- the rest of the money goes into the pot for the winning teams. I hope to have a first and a second place cash prize. if enough people play we can even have a third.
2. How you play:
Pit Stop: EX. Go to 155 Wasatch Dr Layton, UT( library) look for a book entitled " The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo" there you will find the next clue.
Road Block: Say you were asked to go to Smiths. The clue presenter then asks you to chose sweet or sour. Say you choose sour, then you have to buy a lemon and suck out all the juice before you can get your next clue.
You will be in a car but you need to be careful not to drive like a crazy person. There might also be some running involved too so dress appropriately.
I'm really excited I think it's going too be really fun. Hope to see you all there!

Have you ever seen code like this show up on your computer screen?
Have you ever wondered what it all mean? Well... all those little words and symbols make up the pretty images that are now being features on my NEW BLOG LAYOUT. Pretty cool huh:)This past weekend Blake was out of town and I was all alone so what is a girl to do? After a couple of chick flicks I got bored and started looking at a couple of blog template websites. When I could find just the right match for me {you could say I'm a little picky} I thought hey how hard can it really be!
HOPE YOU LIKE IT !
