O Christmas Tree

Thursday, December 15, 2011

There she blows. I love decorating for Christmas... well any holiday really. I didn't post any of my Halloween decor this year but think real vintage glass eyeballs, it was great.  Come to think of it I haven't posted much lately. Sorry in my mind it seems like I have. Mostly because I've been taking pictures and making videos of tons of stuff but I've been saving it for my new business/website. Yep you heard me right. I'm not even building it this time so it's totally legit. You know when you get too close to something and so you can never move forward because it has to be perfect and it just isn't... no, OK so I'm crazy but after several months I had to say enough was enough and hand my perfectionist reins over to someone else. It will launch in January.

This year the holiday decor didn't change much. Mostly because of spacial limitations or fire hazards. LOL. Hopefully by this time next year we'll have some new digs so I can add some new things I've been dreaming about. To the tree I added glittery stick balls. I showcased them a while back on facebook. Also a few intricate purple ornaments but my most favorite 2011 additions were vintage chandelier prisms. I love them so delicate and the best part they cast tiny rainbows around my living room when the sun shines through the window.

The garland is the same. I'd love to be able to swag it someday and have the ends puddle on the floor but my current fireplace would melt the artificial branches. Which is never a good look :)

The one new thing I did add this year was a front door wreath. I haven't decided if I LOVE it yet but maybe after I put it away for a year and bring it out next I'll think it's perfect and be satisfied.  Strange how time does that to some things. I'm the same way with pictures I hate them immediately after they are taken then months later I'll think hey I don't look half bad there. I'm such a tweaker every time I pass something I have to re-arrange a pick or fluff a branch. I love holiday decorations but I'm happy it has a time and a place.

So that's about it for the holiday tour. I also have a fresh magnolia wreath on my round entry mirror but I didn't photograph it. I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season full of family friends and great memories.

Stay tuned for the launch of Tigan Ink in January.  I'd be just tickled if all of you would join me in my new adventure.
