That Deemed Elusive Pimpernel
Wednesday, September 09, 2009This past Saturday Blake an I went down to see one our friend Kevin perform as Percy in the Scarlet Pimpernel. We actually met Kevin & his wife while were living in New York. Kevin did an awesome job and it was so much more fun applauding the excellence of the leads when you actually know them. I say THEM because Chauvelin was also played by a friend from Colledge.
If you haven't ever seen a show at HCT you are seriously missing out. One of my very favorite parts of theater are the sets and costumes. Needless to say HCT did not disappoint. In the very first scene the stage floor rotated and rose to reveal a full sized carousel underneath this small one.

That is a great show! I saw the Scarlet Pimpernel here on Broadway some years ago. Their sets were so elaborate and expensive that it made their run on Broadway a short one. They came back a couple of years after that to a smaller theater and I thought the show was still fabulous despite the more simple design of their sets.
