As I'm sure you well know Wenda who is Waldo's girlfriend sports a dashing pair of red and white striped leggings. Since stripped leggings aren't particularly in this season we decided to paint some stripes on a nice pair of bargain basement 99 cent stockings. Unfortunately Blake bought me a child size seven. I guess I should be happy he actually thinks I'm this small!








The stockings were then retooled for Isabella we are not really sure what she is but she looked hilarious!

So apparently NYC is low on craft stores... I mean seriously can't a girl just get a Michael's. We had to resort to using a scrunchie for our beanie poof balls.

This is what happens when Tigan is left unattended for too long... I'm not exactly sure what inspired this breed of creativity but I can tell you that this is what every man hopes to come home to at the end of a day.

Blake has been asked to give monthly training tips for Shape Magazine. We are still waiting for conformation but if all goes well, you'll be seeing this face monthly on the web giving you a full dose of whats HOT in physical fitness.

This weekend we were fortunate enough to get a visit from our friends in Utah.
Jen and Stacie came down for a fun filled weekend in the big city. We ventured into unknown territory, delved into street vendor couture and experienced the fine eats of Time Squares' Roxy Restaurant.

While in Time Square we spotted the famous W Hotel and decided that as true designers, dedicated to our craft it was only right to take a sneak peak. The picture to the right was taken from the entrance lobby were the walls and
ceiling we completely made of flowing water....
How's that for extravagantly classy!

We took a trip over the bridge to one of Brooklyn's greatest neighborhoods. Brooklyn Heights. and sampled a slice of famous pizza from Grimaldi's.

New York Fun Fact:
Grimaldi's was also a favorite pizza spot for the ever popular Mr. Frank Sinatra!









Blake and I also stopped of at Burger
Heaven and tasted one of their famous
shakes. They were suppose to be to die for.

Childhood Moment Montague:
Growing up some of my favorite foods were a grilled cheese sandwich and a chocolate shake from the local hometown drug store. ( these are still my favorite foods). When I got older my Dad took me down to Layton's finest shake and malt shop the Big Ben Burger. They featured the kind of shakes that were so thick that you give yourself a headache just sucking on air till the ice cream liquefies.

By first hand experience I am a true fine connoisseur of the perfect shake. Burger Heaven carried three flavors Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. We tried chocolate, and while it was tasty it was not true Shake material. The shake was watery, the cups weren't chilled and they used artificial flavoring. ( shame on you) Sorry New York you ain't got nothin' on home grown Big Ben!

Fashion District

YOM KIPPUR means the Day of Atonement, because it is the day on which they atone for all of their sins. Yom Kippur is a day of prayer. They go to the synagogue, and pray and meditate, thinking about the past year, and of all the good things that they did and of the not so good things. Then they take time to feel bad for those things and decide that they will never do those things again. They then ask God to forgive them for anything inappropriate they may have done.

Eat!
On the afternoon before Yom Kippur they eat a festive meal.

Light Candles
Girls and their mothers light candles 18 minutes before sunset in their city (the time must be exact)

Each girl lights one candle, then sway their hands three times around the candles and recite the following blessings:

1) Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to light the candle of Yom Kippur.

2) Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has granted us life, sustained us, and enabled us to reach this occasion.

Change your Shoes
On Yom Kippur they do not wear leather shoes

Fasting
All girls over 12 years old and boys over 13 years old must fast.

Shofar
At the end of the day, the whole congregation recites the Shema and a few other verses out loud together, then the shofar is sounded for one long blast. After that they say: "Next Year in Jerusalem." and recite the evening services and the fast is over.
